The Vedanta Society of Arkansas, Little Rock, established in 1989 by a few families, has provided a platform
for social, cultural, and spiritual activities for the Indian community in Little Rock and other cities in the close
proximity.
For the past sixteen years, this organization has cultivated a spirit of confidence and self respect for oneself
and respect for others irrespective of color, creed, race, and religion.
In addition to cultural and religious activities, the VSA has been involved in many fundraising efforts to
provide relief for the victims of natural disasters, such as Tsunami, Gujarat earthquakes, Orissa floods, Kargil
war, Hurricane Katrina etc.
There were only about 30 Indian families when this organization was started in 1989, but now we have grown
to 500 families living in and around Little Rock area.
