Gurukul is the Puget Sound's premier organization working with children of South Asian heritage, to bring Indian languages, culture and arts into their lives. Gurukul is bringing various performing arts and art forms to the students of Gurukul. The goal of Gurukul is to promote and teach Hindi language in addition to promoting knowledge and understanding about Indian culture. Gurukul conducts 2 hour classes once a week on Sundays from 11AM - 1PM. One hour is devoted to Hindi language and the second hour is focused on teaching Indian culture, tradition, history, and geography. Gurukul also celebrates major Indian festival through out the year, such as Diwali and Holi. Gurukul is run by community volunteers. Each class is taught by two teachers. Children range from 5 to 14 years of age. Gurukul is a non-profit organization
