Authentic southindian rasam

tamarind extract 1/2 cup 
vineripe tomattos 4 
boiled and mashed toor dal 1/2 cup 
garlic 5 cloves 
pepper powder 2 tablespoons 
jeera powder 1 tablespoon 
ghee or butter 3 tablespoon 
mustard seeds 1 tablespoon 
coriander leaves 1/2 bunch 
any southindian brand rasam powder 2 tablespoons 
salt to taste 
water enough to dilute. 
1. boil toordal in pressure cooker with turmeric powder. 
2. mash nicely the tomattos with water and add the tamarind
extract which you have to make by soaking the lemon sized fresh
tamarind. If using the paste 
use less of it. 

3. add enough water say 2or 3 cups and boil it for 10 minutes. 

4. now add crushed garlic, pepper powder,geera powder,salt and
rasam powder. 

5. boil it for 5 minutes. 

6. Then add mashed dal dilute it with 
water. 
7. boil it for 1 minute. 

8. keep a pan and add butter and add musterd seeds and season the
rasam. 

9. add coriander leaves and curyy leaves just before serving. 

10. Enjoy Rasam with rice.
